Before people complain the the OP/ED lyrics are wrong: they prolly are, but we don’t care. If you really are upset about this, there will be official lyrics eventually, at which point we will start using them. What we put down is almost definitely wrong.
As for some issues mentioned in the comments on the first episode’s post:
- I’ve seen a few people leaving comments about ordered chapters, and on IRC I’ve had a few people ask about it. We really did consider it, but the opening and ending themes don’t have a ton of fast motion, meaning that ordered chapters would not amount to much space being saved, and we (or at least our encoder) didn’t think it was worth the effort (ordered chapters is a fair bit more work for the encoder).
- No, we will not be releasing a standard definition version. With efficient h264 decoders such as CoreAVC, and hardware decoding available on most graphics cards produced in the past few years, we believe that our HD version should be playable on the majority of computers out there.
- Yes, the 500MB filesize is necessary. There are other groups subbing this show if you are not interested in the high quality CG and animation in this show.
I for one like the way you guys are handling the releases, and with the crazy decrease in price of comp-parts lately its easy to build a system that can play HD (mabye not 1080..) and considering that most releases nowadays are in HD its a bandWagon worth jumping on.
As long as it has quality I don’t care about the wait.

Nice to know whats up with the sub. It really sucks to wait for Bashquash! as it might be one of the best anime i’ve seen (we’ll see that for sure after first three or so episodes) but as you said quality first. And I’d rather wait than watch crappy version with bad subs or too low bitrate (especially you guys are worth waiting). Thanx for the hard work. (‘guess I’ll go watch Casshern 1080

For the love of god please don’t translate the insert song. It’s fucking retarded and distracting. If you are as into the “high quality cg animation” as much as you claim to be, why the hell do you want to cover it up with stupid looking flashy text?
I just wanted to say that I’m terribly dissapointed you’re going to mess up the karaoke with flashy animations. It’s unnecessary and distracts the viewer from what they should be looking at. I loved the first episode from you guys, why must you ruin this love?

dont mind those whines about file size, whoever says that they can produce a quality release with lower or half of the file size are bunch of morons who dont know about encoding. theyre merely idiots who mumble about video quality and shit, and dont know about crappy encode vs good encode.

Any chance that you will also release the series as download for for example megaupload? reason is that I live in Sweden and they have changed the law. Now they can force the Internet operator to give out my ip so that they can find out who I am and sue me. They don’t even need to go via police. They can directly go to court and sue me. Since I don’t want that could anybody do that for me?

The subs are great and the quality is superb, only two minor annoyances, the subs over the karaoke parts and there are some hiccups during play; other than that it’s awesome, looking forward to improvements in the future.
