This week’s episode shows Dan in great agony as he must stop himself from fapping. This is due to the high concentration of boobs in Basquash! – hence the picture above, showing his need to have one arm forcibly subdue the other before it can… well, subdue his desires.
Sorry for no status updates this week – I ended up installing Windows 7 RC1 and thus was busy with that instead of making a post. Next week should have a status post again.

We’ve released a patch to fix an editing error. The patch is easy to apply:
I was wondering why no status updates. Oh well. Looking forward to another episode.
Thank you
Weee! New Basquash! thanks for the hard work
Yea!! More BewbZ!!
=D
Since no one answered me in the prev ep’s comment, I humbly ask it again (maybe you’ll read it this time): will there be BluRay releases as well or not? If possible, please somebody answer me! kthxbye
Thx for the Ep. ^^

There probably will be a re-release on blu-ray. No one really knows, so stop asking.
08 was another tight (quite literally – the pacing has been spot on so far), entertaining ep. On an aside, Spanky is the first mascot sidekick ever that I have actually liked. I usually hate them with a vengeance. Maybe it’s because he’s not kawaii!
Thanks Umai!
Can some explain to me why the subs continue to slip out of sink with the anime? It can’t be me seeing as how I’ve never had this problem with any other group/anime.
Scratch that. The audio and subs are slipping out of sink with the video. Again, this isn’t something that’s happened before.
Ten: I don’t have any problems with playback. I’m using MPC with CCCP. What are you using?
I’ve tried both CCCPs built in media players, and VLC. Both have the audio and subs break sync with the video, it’s odd.
I had that problem with episode 7, and my DL at the moment is going way too slow like 0.5 kbs so I can’t really support you yet.
This is the forth one that I’ve had this issue with. But all but one of them was fixed through changing my player, or loading up a stream of the show.
O.o nice how you guys liking windows 7 rc? I might switch back to windows after this releases retail.
@Ten
Your player is the problem. First of all, stop using VLC. And second get a new media player. If it continues this way then it is probably just your computer because so far no one else has really had this problem
I’ve tried THREE players. VLC, and the two CCCP comes with. And it isn’t my PC. Seeing as how every other anime I download works perfectly.
And if it was an error on my part, then the video would get choppy in places, and it doesn’t.
@Ten
I just watched 8, and I also have the same problem. It’s easily fixable just by rewinding it a bit and the subtitles/audio lines up again, but it is a hassle.
However, I probably have had this problem far longer than you, and it always happens to me when I watch more graphical MKVs. I doubt it’s the player, since every type of player has the same problem for it, so it’s probably the computer.
And by computer, I don’t mean like there’s a flaw, it’s just that the graphics card and such can’t run it super smooth 100%. I have problems running Dark Knight and Iron Man, so I can understand my problem.
AVIs have never given me a problem, however they usually are inferior in quality. Mp4s are the only format where it’s been super high quality and still super smooth the whole way for me, yet I’ve only experienced that with soul eater by tadashi.
I had the video errors with Tadashi, then I got a gig graphics card and they stopped.
@Ten: Chances are it is your player/decoder. If you’re using ffdshow (which comes with CCCP), try using a lower-resource decoder such as CoreAVC, or if your graphics card supports it, use hardware decoding.
If that doesn’t work, I believe someone outside of our group encodes low-resolution xvid versions of our episodes, so maybe check those out.
We use a high bitrate, and that can often cause trouble for computers that can normally play 720p files that have lower bitrates (i.e. the “every other anime I download works perfectly.” part of what you said).
Also, video does not always get choppy when there are problems. Choppiness is caused by your decoder recognizing a slowdown in decoding, and then dropping frames to keep the audio and video in sync. Whatever decoder you are using may not be dropping frames, thus resulting in non-choppy video that still goes out of sync. I personally have experienced this problem.
@kaede: We certainly hope there will be BDs. While I can’t read Japanese, thus can’t go looking for information, I would suspect that Basquash! is a series that *will* have BDs simply because the quality of the animation seems to have so much effort (read: money) put into it. It probably depends on how its TV ratings are, though. Assuming it’s the quality you’re worried about, our releases really are high quality. We’re not sacrificing anything for filesize, much to the dismay of many people (see above ^_^). While the BDs will undoubtedly be much better quality, I don’t think it’s worth waiting for if this is a series you like.
Thx a lot!
Dear Calan!
First: thank you very much for your reply.
, so I just wanted to make sure that you will do it, so even if I delete my current files there will be a replacement (because if *you* (ok, or thora) wouldn’t do it, I would archive the current version, even if some other group would do the BR).
Second: The thing I am worried about is not the quality, I am completely satisfied with how you do things! (read my comment @ep7;) ) Yet, the problem is the file size, coz I never have enough space on my HDs, thus I archive my stuff on DVD. But not to waste too much of them either, I would like to archive the best quality only (which is obviously you already now, but the issues with the raw is out of your control, mean: you can’t take out the annoying commercials and other things wich the BR doesn’t have), that’s why I asked. And of course BR is even higher quality video-vise.
Third: I know for sure there will be BR
So thank you again for your effort to bring us new Basquash ep every week, for the awesome quality too, and mostly for your kind reply!
bye
@Calan
