Mark Twain once said, “A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way. ” And there has been no finer lesson than the one I’ve learned by working with the team on Major’s sixth season. From the constant delays by Calan to the excellent turn around by… well just about everyone. (Damn you Calan!)
All teasing aside, I’d like to thank the valuable members of the team that dedicated a portion of their lives to creating an unparalleled translation. JJS for encoding the wonderful releases and blakbunnie27 for dedicating his time translating, both of which formed the cornerstones of our team without which we’d have no Major to release. Not to mention the time BB e-mailed Studio Hibari informing them of their constant usage of Engrish in the player names, which was mysteriously fixed some episodes later. Of course we cannot forget Nanne who dedicated himself to timing within a miraculous turnaround time-frame, LGDArm and Mael for putting in the effort to typeset the rare sign. And then there’s DrX, without whom there would be no team. The man with the plan that insists on spoiling things for the rest of the staff. You know, I’m going to get you back one of these days… :ahem:
Despite all the aforementioned staff members, there are three which should be thanked the most. They are the most versatile, the most intelligent, and the most dedicated. Yes, friends, I am talking about the wonderful quality control staff. Spending exhausting, thankless hours week after week scouring over the releases in order to ensure only the highest quality episode is released. Without the work of uberrig, Juggen, and Majii; there would be a very different episode released each week.
But most of all I have to thank both you, Studio Hibari, and Takuya Mitsuda without whom there would be no Major to subtitle. And while some of us may be taking the end of this project as our exit to the real world once again, others are staying and moving on to different and not particularly greener pastures. But despite the quirks and oddities each of us brought to the banquet, it has been both a pleasure and an experience that I am sure none of us will soon forget.
